The Handicapper General is in part a tribute to Kurt Vonnegut Jr. I found one of his first stories, Harrison Bergeron in Welcome to the Monkey House. The seven-page short story is a futuristic clip of life about George and Hazel Bergeron and their irrepressible son Harrison. The protagonist and equally unstoppable character, Diana Moon Glompers, the Handicapper General is vintage Vonnegut. It’s not a pretty story. It is a tightly written satire of things going very awry when attempting to apply virtuous principles to the whole.
The Handicapper General Blog will fall short of any work by the master Vonnegut. If you are looking for a fun read and some useful tips, read on. If you are looking for horse racing tips, or where to plunk down a few dollars. The Handicapper Blog is not a gambling blog per se. It is about the risks, bets and gambling of everyday life.
